Welcome to The Crew!

Our mission is to build community through rowing. Our studio offers classes tailored to improving rowing skills, endurance, and strength. The Crew has something for everybody!

We’re a woman-owned rowing studio that believes MOVEMENT is for EVERYONE and EVERY BODY

Classess

Intervals

45 Minutes of high intensity exercise, featuring short sprints on the erg and floor exercises. This class is designed to push your anaerobic threshold to the MAX!

HIIT

45 Minutes of interval training on the erg. This class will have longer sprints on the erg and no floor exercises. Our Interval class combines the skills and endurance you develop in HIIT, Power, and UT2 Tuesdays.

Power

45 Minutes training for distance on the erg, with floor portions involving weighted exercises focused on explosive power. Lower stroke rates don’t mean less work!

UT2 TUESDAYS (75 minutes!)

For the uninitiated, UT2 training builds aerobic capacity via base level work at intensities between 65 and 75% of maximum heart rate for LONG periods of time. This workout is scientifically PROVEN to improve oxygen utilization, meaning you can push harder when it really counts.

Come join us for your weekly steady state. It’s more fun with friends!

Sunday Funday

Come join us every Sunday at 10 am for a 45 Minute class of games and competition! You may go head to head with your neighbor, compete against yourself, or play one of the games integrated into the rowing machine. You’ll barely notice it’s a workout, we promise.

meet the founder

Hi! I’m Bryn, founder of The Crew.

I have been rowing for 20 years. I competed at a national and international level in high school and college and now enjoy rowing in a masters program at Gentle Giant Rowing Club in Somerville. I am also a coach for the Somerville High School rowing program.

From a young age, movement and team sports have had a huge presence in my life. Continuing to participate in team sports as an adult has brought me so much joy and fulfillment. It is a physical and mental effort I truly enjoy.

Outside of rowing, you can find me skiing, hiking, lifting, and playing field hockey.

I created The Crew to share my passion. It’s an inclusive space celebrating movement and teamwork through the sport of rowing.
