Power

Power generation on the rowing machine can be a very hard concept to grasp for beginners. For many people new to rowing, lower stroke rates mean easier rowing. This is not the case! Our rate capped Power workout (stroke rate capped at 24 spm) means more recovery time in between strokes rather than in between intervals. Because of the low stroke rate, you will be able to take a deep breath or two during the recovery, then generate a lot of power on the next drive.

This class has a floor component either at the beginning or in the middle where members will focus on weighted compound movements such as RDLs, goblet squats, rows, etc. The movements chosen for each class will help reinforce the explosive drive of the rowing stroke. Improving in our Power class will help you see improvement in sprints, as you learn to harness the strength of your legs and back to get the most out of each stroke.

Do not be fooled by this lower rate class. It is HARD WORK!
